As part of our ongoing efforts to enhance the support and benefits we provide, we have switched Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) provider from Health Assured to Vivup on Monday 16th September 2024.
Why we’re making this change
We switched from Health Assured EAP to an EAP powered by Vivup in light of the Perkbox and Vivup merger, we can now offer you valuable support and services through Vivup.
What this means for you...
No contractual or pricing changes
Nothing changes in your contract or your pricing: you continue with the same level of EAP package you picked as at the commencement or renewal date of your contract. Please refer to your contract for full details of your existing package and pricing.
What services you will receive
The EAP service powered by Vivup offers a broad range of features, including support specialists 24/7, 365 days a year, to discuss any emotional, personal, financial, or work-related issues in confidence. This ensures comprehensive support for you and your employees.

Podcasts and Blogs – A range of mental health and wellbeing podcasts and blogs.
Plus, your employees also get access to Vivup Your Care, an engaging online wellbeing platform which provides access to wellbeing products and services with a focus on proactive care, such as;
Assessments – Identify the risk of developing any of the five-leading lifestyle-related diseases, along with mental wellbeing and financial scores.
Goals – Create goals to achieve a healthier you with recommended small sustainable lifestyle changes.

How to access the EAP powered by Vivup & Your Care
To make this move as seamless as possible we are utilising the existing UK phone number from Health Assured, so there’s no change for your UK employees.
How to access via the Perkbox platform:
Search "EAP" in the search bar on the Perkbox platform and click the EAP powered by Vivup perk
Read the information and click "Get this Perk" to access more information
Read the remaining instructions and click "open" to access Your Care
Accessing In the Moment Support or Counselling
For UK employees, they should call 0800 756 0861, which is the same number that was previously used to access the EAP from Health Assured, and quote Perkbox and their company name. Employees will also be able to find full information and instructions to access their EAP by searching ‘EAP’ on the Perkbox platform.
For employees in the Republic of Ireland, they need to call 1800 911 700, which is different from the Health Assured number for Ireland, and quote Perkbox and their company name.
Note: if any of your employees are mid counselling session with Health Assured, they will continue as normal until the sessions per that topic have been completed with Health Assured. Don’t worry - if anyone calls to reschedule a session, they will be transferred to the correct contact at Health Assured.

What happens if an employee is part way through their counselling sessions with Health Assured?
If an employee is mid counselling session with Health Assured, they will continue as normal until the sessions per that topic have been completed. If anyone calls to reschedule a session, they will be transferred over to the correct contact at Health Assured.
What data protection protocols are in place at Vivup?
Vivup is committed to the safeguarding of the privacy and security of personal data in alignment with the UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018. We adhere to the principles of data protection, the lawful processing of data, and ensure the rights of individuals are maintained. Our Data Protection Officer oversees compliance with all aspects of these requirements and ensures through organisational measures such as monitoring, audit, access control, compliance checks, and data security training, and technical measures such as encryption, anonymisation, backup and continuity infrastructure, that a high standard of data protection is upheld.
Further, the principle of data protection by design and default is embedded into the design of Vivup’s platforms, services, and practices thereby protecting individuals’ privacy by default. All data is subject to the principals of minimisation and least privilege. We maintain ISO27001, Cyber Essentials and Cyber Essentials Plus and our commitment to these certifications underpin all aspects of our service delivery.
How are counselling sessions conducted?
Vivup EAP uses Teams and Zoom for Virtual counselling sessions. Sessions can also be completed over the phone depending on the needs of the employee.
Will the EAP need a separate contract with Vivup?
Nothing changes in your contract or your pricing: you will continue with the same level of EAP package you picked when starting or renewing your contract. Please refer to your contract for full details on your existing package and pricing.
How do you ensure the service provided by the Vivup EAP is to a high standard?
Vivup’s EAP service is clinically managed and led in line with NHS standards of operational and clinical delivery. Clinical excellence and delivery are at the heart of our EAP model. Counsellors adhere to the ethical guidelines of the Employee Assistance Professional Association (EAPA). As a minimum requirement, all our counsellors will:
be qualified to post-graduate diploma level accredited by the below as appropriate: British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP), UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP)
hold a professional membership in a relevant professional body
have completed mandatory vetting checks including enhanced DBS
have minimum three years post qualification experience
We conform directly to the requirements of APPTS Clinical Governance and Standards which we have been successfully measured against and come under CQC standards of “Safe, Effective, Caring, Responsive and Well-Led”.
Will I be able to access any usage stats or reporting through Vivup?
We can provide anonymised MI reporting quarterly around your EAP usage, for in-the- moment support and/or counselling sessions. You can request these reports from the business customer support team or your customer success manager.
Is there crisis support available?
We can provide group or individual support following a crisis such as serious injury, road traffic accident, assault, burglary, suicide, fire, terrorism, sexual assault, or any other form of trauma. This support is designed to enhance an employee’s natural resilience and provide specialist support to minimise the impacts of trauma and promote wellbeing and recovery.
Does Vivup have an equivalent to the Wisdom App? If so, what features are available?
From the 16th September, your employees will no longer have access to the Wisdom app. Although they are not exactly alike, the Vivup Your Care platform provides some similar features to the Wisdom app
The Goals feature supports achieving a healthier you with recommended small sustainable lifestyle changes.
You can connect health and fitness apps to Your Care, to sync activity data to track your health and progress, just like Wisdom.
Your Care contains a whole host of resources, including blogs, videos, recipes and more to inspire, just like the Wisdom app.
My employees are using the Wisdom app. Are you sending communications to them about how they can access the Your Care platform?
Health Assured are sending push notifications from the Wisdom app to notify employees that the Wisdom app will no longer be available.
Due to data privacy, we will not have access to the list of specific employees who use Wisdom app. That’s why, we have published resources for you to share with all your employees here:
