Advanced budgets make it easier to scale your reward initiative – especially if you need to manage budgets across departments, teams or locations.
What are advanced budgets? Advanced budgets let you create pots of Reward points for departments, teams, or any other structure that fits your needs. If you don't have advanced budgets enabled, please reach out to a member of our team to find out more.

Make quick edits and reallocate Reward points without reuploading your whole dataset
How to create a budget
Step one – Download the CSV template
Go to Admin > Reward > Budgets
Select Upload budgets via CSV
Click Download template or use your own.
The file includes all users with an admin or manager role, along with their email address, user ID and any mapped teams.
Step two – Fill in the template
Add the following information:
Budget name – e.g. “Marketing ” or “Finance”
Amount – how many points to allocate
💡 Tip: Use the CSV template available on the 'Create budget' page
Step three – Upload your file
Save your file in CSV format
Go to Admin > Reward > Create budgets and either click Upload file or drag and drop your data
You’ll get an email once the upload is complete
If there are any issues, the email will flag the rows that need fixing
Step four - Assign budget to managers
You can leave your budgets as they are, as these are just a handy way to organise your Reward points into separate pots. However, the best way to give managers the ability to reward their teams is to assign a budget directly to them.
To do this, go to your Reward wallet and click "Give points." You can add up to 30 managers this way, but if you need to add more than 5, we recommend using a CSV file instead, as it's much quicker.
To do this:
Download the CSV file, which will already have all the manager email addresses in it.
Fill in the budget name and the amount you'd like to assign.
Delete any rows for managers you don't want to include.
Finally, drag and drop the updated file back onto the page, or use the upload button to add it.
Choose to leave a note for managers, confirm all the details and send.
Step five – View and manage your budgets
Once uploaded, you can use the search bar to find budgets by name or owner.
Click into any budget to see:
Total balance
Who it’s assigned to
Who can spend from it
Filter by team or individual to review allocations
Step five – Make updates or changes
If you need to update a few individuals:
Use the search bar to find the budget you want to edit, and select 'Adjust' to reassign Reward points between budgets.
If you need to update many budgets:
Download your current data
Make the changes
Re-upload the updated CSV
There’s no need to delete or overwrite anything manually.
