Reward controls let you set a minimum and maximum number of Reward points that managers can give to their teams.
Why it matters
It stops people from giving way too much or way too little by mistake. It also helps make sure everyone across the company is rewarding people in a fair and consistent way.
How to set reward controls
To set reward controls, go to your admin settings and select ‘Roles and permissions.’ Underneath ‘Rewards’, you can update controls by selecting ‘set’ underneath 'Reward controls.'
Set the minimum as the smallest amount your managers can award their employees.
Set the maximum as the amount you don’t want employees to exceed.
Once you’ve set your amount, select 'done' to confirm. To undo your reward control, simply select disable.

This will depend on your company’s reward strategy, but here’s a framework on the number of points to allocate for different activities based on what we do at Perkbox.
Small Reward: Between 50-250 points
Occasion example: Wrapping up a project
What can employees get? A takeaway gift card
Medium Rewards: Between 250-500 points
Occasion example: Work anniversaries
What can employees get? Gift cards for their favourite retail brands
Large Rewards: Between 500-2000 points

No, you cannot set the minimum amount below 1 Reward point.

No, the maximum amount can be left “unlimited”

No, you cannot since a specific amount it set when the automation is created.

The maximum amount must be at least one Reward point more than the minimum amount.
Can different teams have different controls?
No, the setting is applied to the entire business.
Can admins have the same controls as managers?
Yes, once the minimum and maximum limits are set, they will apply to all roles.
Is it possible to set different controls for different budgets?
No, once set, they apply to all budgets.
If I want to issue a one-off award that exceeds the maximum limit I have sent, what should I do?
You can adjust the controls to send the one-off Reward, then revert them to the original amount once you’re done.
