How to: Set up automated recognitions and rewards

Overview

Save time (and never miss an event) by setting up automated recognitions and rewards.

Currently available for birthdays and work Anniversaries, you can locate these automated celebrations within the 'Automation' section of your Admin Dashboard.

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1: Access automations

From your Admin Dashboard, select the ‘Automations’ tab on the left-hand menu.

Step 2: Choose a celebration type

Click ‘Set up a new automation’ and choose whether you’re creating an automation for birthdays or work anniversaries.

Step 3: Create rules (work anniversaries only)

If you selected work anniversary, you’ll be asked to choose a frequency:

  • Every year, Sends the same message and Reward points every year.

  • Custom – Allows you to set different messages and Reward point amounts for specific years (e.g. tailored messages or rewards for 1-year, 5-year, or 10-year milestones)

⚠️ Note: Custom rules are only available for work anniversaries. Birthdays are set to every year.

Step 4: Enter your message

Write the message your employee will see when they receive the recognition. You can enhance this by adding:

  • Your company’s Celebrations

  • Your company Values

📌 Tip: Click ‘Preview your message’ to see how it will look to employees.

Step 5: Add reward points (optional)

If you’re including a reward, follow these steps:

  1. Enter the amount of Reward points you want to send (for work anniversaries, choose either a fixed yearly amount or a different amount each year via custom rules).

  2. Select the Reward wallet and the budget the points will be drawn from.

  3. Tick the box to confirm you accept the Terms & Conditions.

Step 6: Set a country and the sender's name

Select the country this automation applies to. If your organisation has offices in multiple countries, you’ll need to create a separate automation for each location. Otherwise, one automation per celebration type will be sufficient.

Next, enter the name that will appear as the sender of the recognition.

  • Select ‘Admin name’ if you want it to come from your own name.

  • Or choose ‘Type anything’ to enter a different name—this could be a team name or something more creative.

Step 7: Finalise and activate

Once everything looks good:

  • Review the automation

  • Click ‘Activate automation’

Automated recognitions and rewards will go live at 11 am UTC on the day of the celebration.
